Little Learners Academy

Child safety. At the heart of every day.

Every child deserves to feel safe, heard and valued. Our commitment to their wellbeing is part of the care, relationships and learning we want every family to experience.

Across Austral, Rossmore and Thirlmere, we are committed to protecting children from harm and creating places where they can play, explore and belong.

Our commitment to children

Their safety comes first.
Always.

Little Learners Academy is committed to the safety, dignity and rights of every child. We have zero tolerance for child abuse, neglect or mistreatment. Children’s interests must guide the decisions made about their care.

We are committed to putting the NSW Child Safe Standards into practice and continuing to strengthen our approach. The Standards bring together leadership, safe environments, children’s participation and a shared responsibility to prevent and respond to harm.

Safety also means emotional security: being welcomed by name, having feelings taken seriously and knowing there is a trusted adult ready to listen.

Care in everyday moments

A shared responsibility.
A child-first approach.

These priorities shape the child-safe culture we are committed to building with our educators, families and communities.

People children can trust

Child-focused recruitment, required Working with Children Check verification, clear professional boundaries and ongoing educator support are central to our commitment.

Listening, then acting

Children’s worries and families’ concerns deserve a prompt, respectful response. Our commitment includes recognising concerns, following reporting responsibilities and putting children’s wellbeing first.

Safer spaces to explore

We are committed to thoughtful supervision, identifying risks in physical and online environments, and respecting children’s privacy as they learn and play.

Every child belongs

We value each child’s identity, culture and abilities. Our commitment includes cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and welcoming children of all backgrounds and support needs.

A voice in their day

Children deserve choices, respect and opportunities to express themselves. This means paying attention to words, gestures and behaviour, including when a child communicates differently.

Families as partners

You know your child best. We welcome your questions, insights and feedback, and value open conversations about their comfort, relationships and experiences at the centre.

Small voices matter

Known. Heard.
Respected.

A child does not need the perfect words to tell us how they feel. A quiet moment, a question or a change in behaviour can be an invitation to listen more closely.

We want children to feel confident asking for help, sharing their ideas and speaking to an adult they trust. Respecting their feelings and developing independence belong together.

Our commitment is to keep learning: reflecting on practice, listening to feedback and supporting our teams to strengthen a culture of care.

I honestly couldn't be happier with Little Learners! The educators are incredibly kind, patient and genuinely care about the children. From day one, they made both us and our child feel so welcome, which made the transition into childcare much easier. It's clear that so much thought goes into the daily activities, and it's been amazing to see how much our child has grown in confidence and independence. The communication is fantastic, and I always feel informed and confident that my child is being well looked after. Thank you to the entire team for creating such a supportive and nurturing environment. I highly recommend this centre to any family looking for exceptional care.

We’ve had such a positive experience with Little Learners. The team is friendly, supportive, and always goes above and beyond to make the children feel comfortable and cared for. It’s so nice knowing our child is happy, having fun, and learning new things every day. We’re so grateful for everything they do and would definitely recommend the centre to other families.
